In 2004, Taste of Ladera was created as a non-profit,501 (c) (3) organization to raise money for local charities, schools and programs in Ladera Ranch, all while having a great time! The Taste of Ladera is a grassroots organization, founded and operated by friends and neighbors of Ladera Ranch. Founder Michelle Patterson has been the visionary behind this amazing event since its inception. Shortly after she and her family moved to Ladera Ranch, Michelle knew she lived in a very special community. Her passion for helping others led her to an idea for creating an event that could combine the efforts of local restaurants and businesses to fundraise for nonprofit organizations. Over the course of a few neighborhood BBQs, Michelle and her neighbors brainstormed and found a way to connect local residents, businesses and restaurants to build a family friendly festival that everyone could enjoy. The Taste of Ladera was thus born. It has grown from a small afternoon event to a two-day festival and expo for local businesses and charities.

In the last five years, Taste of Ladera has experienced a tremendous expansion. In its first year, more than 50 volunteers helped in various areas, attendance was 4,500, and the event that year raised and donated $12,000 to local schools. By any definition, Taste of Ladera was an instant success!
The following year was even more exciting. More than 100 vendors participated in the event and a number of nonprofit organizations were invited to host booths and raise money for their organizations.
Most recently, Taste attracted more than 30,000 friends, neighbors and families who like to celebrate good food, drink and entertainment. Headlining entertainment such as Sugar Ray and Berlin has elevated the festival to a whole new level. As the event continues to grow, the goal is to provide an event that is absolutely seamless. And that is accomplished with the team of dedicated volunteers and friends from Ladera Ranch and surrounding cities. Their passion makes Taste of Ladera come alive!
Over the years, Taste of Ladera has raised more than $200,000 for charity. It is said to be the largest fundraising and family event in Orange County.
What makes this event so successful is that there is something for every age group—everyone has a great time, and it’s all for a great cause! We invite you to be a part of it!
